Circle J Roll-Offs is a waste management and dumpster rental company, so we want you to rent dumpsters to get rid of your waste. However, there are times when you really shouldn’t rent a dumpster from us or anyone else. It just doesn’t make sense. Here are a few of these situations:
1 – When You Only Have a Small Amount of Waste
If the amount of waste you need to get rid of won’t fill the bed of pick-up truck, you shouldn’t rent a roll-off dumpster. If the waste is smaller and can easily fit in trash bags or consists of a single large item that can be collected by your standard sanitation collection company, you shouldn’t rent a roll-dumpster. If you think you have a lot of waste, but not sure that you have enough to rent a roll-off dumpster, maybe a Dumpster-in-a-Bag is a good option for you. Dumpster rentals are for larger amounts of waste. If you can get rid of the waste in one or two trips to the junkyard, it is probably not worth it to get a rental.
2 – When You Have Huge Amounts of Waste Consistently
Roll-off dumpster rentals are designed to be short term solutions for unusual circumstances when you need to get rid of a lot of waste over a couple of weeks. If you produce huge amounts of waste on a consistent basis, you need to find a regular waste removal company or another option to get rid of it.
3 – When You Have Waste That Can Be Resold
If the waste you need to get rid of is still usable, don’t get a roll-off dumpster to get rid of it. Why fill up landfills if it is still usable? There are many convenient ways that you can sell your junk online. Sites such as Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and eBay make it easier than ever to make a few extra bucks selling the things you no longer need from the convenience of your home. You can also use consignment shops (there are many to choose from in the Mobile, AL area) to sell them.
4 – When You Have Waste That Can Be Given Away
Maybe you know of a neighbor currently in need, or see an announcement on Facebook about a family looking for You can even give your junk away by listing them as free on Craigslist. Thrift stores are also always looking for gently used items. Many churches, schools, and civic organizations hold rummage sales to help fund good causes and are always looking for items to sell.
5 – When You Need to Get Rid of Hazardous Waste
If you’ve been around for any length of time, you surely have some waste around your home or business that would be considered hazardous. This waste can range from old paint and household cleaners to very dangerous pesticides, explosives, and ammunition. Although some dumpster rental companies can collect hazardous waste, you need to be upfront with them about it. If they cannot take it, they may have a recommendation for who can. But in general, you should not rent a dumpster just to get rid of hazardous waste. Some communities have hazardous waste collection days where you can drop off your hazardous waste for free or a low fee.
